Responsible Play

Snap Call · NextGen Studios

Snap Call is a game. The chips are not money, nothing pays out, and nobody wins anything you can spend. But you can spend real money buying chips, and you can lose real hours playing — so this page is about keeping both in proportion.

What this app is not

There is no cash-out. Chips cannot be exchanged for money, goods or services, and there is no prize. Being good at this game does not mean you would be good at gambling for money — the odds you learn here are real, but nothing else about it is.

Keeping money in proportion

You never have to buy chips. The app gives you chips to start, more every twelve hours, and more for watching an ad if you want to. Buying is a shortcut, not a requirement.

If you do buy, decide the amount before you open the store, not after a bad game. Buying chips right after losing is the moment worth being suspicious of — you are buying back a feeling, not chips.

Two controls that live outside our app, so we cannot override them:

  • Require a password for every purchase. Play Store → your profile → Settings → Authentication → Require authentication for purchases → For all purchases.
  • Remove your payment method from your Google account entirely. Then buying anything takes a deliberate act, not a tap.

Google Play keeps your full purchase history, across every app. If you are not sure how much you have spent here, that is where the real number is.

Keeping time in proportion

Set an alarm before you start, not during. Android's Digital Wellbeing can put a daily timer on this app and close it when the time is up.

Play when you want to play, not when you are bored, low, or avoiding something. The game is more fun that way too.

Signs worth taking seriously

Any of these, and it is worth stepping back:

  • You spend more than you meant to, more than once.
  • You play to stop feeling something, rather than to enjoy it.
  • You hide how much you play or spend from people close to you.
  • Losing chips makes you angry, or makes you immediately buy more.
  • Sleep, work, study or people are getting less of you because of it.
  • You have tried to cut down and not managed to.

Taking a break, or stopping

Uninstalling pauses it. If you want it properly finished, delete your account from inside the app — Settings → Account → Delete. That erases your profile and forfeits any chips, bought or earned. It is meant to be final.

If you want a break rather than an ending, remove your payment method first (above), then uninstall. That way coming back does not start with a purchase.

Where to get help

If gaming or spending is affecting your life, talking to someone helps more than managing it alone. Start with a doctor or a mental health helpline in your area — they are used to this and it is a normal thing to call about.

In India, Tele-MANAS is a free government helpline for mental health, open 24 hours a day in around 20 languages. You do not need a diagnosis or a reason to call it.

Tele-MANAS — 14416, or 1-800-891-4416. Free, 24×7, run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
